By partnering with Xcel Energy to build their data center in Minnesota, Google believe that they will utilize energy and electricity wisely to comply with the sate’s laws. They say that this approach will not put pressure on the environment and help them reduce their carbon footprint.
Xcel claim that the project will help the utility and the area transition from its reliance on the state’s largest coal-powered Sherco plant. They say that enterprises will benefit from state-of-the-art facility built across 300 acres of land.
